End.
And we welcome you into Magic Oak Arena tonight.
Getting set for the five a girls final.
It's Green County tech.
The Golden Eagles taking on the Farmington Cardinals riding at 29 and one record into this finals game.
Farmington today back in the finals but in a different classification.
Bobby looking forward to this one.
Had a great girls game earlier today.
We're going to talk about, but this should be an awesome matchup at Farmington.
Has had a spectacular season trying to cap it off here tonight.
These have been the two top teams in the rankings all season long a class five AA you mentioned Farmington moving up there.
Still been the heavy powerhouse.
Green County Tech had the privilege of hosting the state tournament.
They run through it.
Now they've got a chance at number one.
Well we saw a great win earlier here today.
Let's take a look back at what we had earlier today in the four a final.
And it was Pulaski Academy coming in undefeated and trying to cap off a perfect season.
We saw a perfect season upended yesterday.
And frankly, we saw another one today.
What a performance by the Queen coming in here knocking down jump shots and a great performance by guards knocking down perimeter jumpers.
And they claimed the title.
And it is their first in a long time.
Pretty impressive performance here today.
Defense definitely showed up for the Queen first title in 22 years.
2003 was the last time they did it.
We're going to get going today as we've got an exciting matchup in this one, but I think a lot of eyeballs are going to be on the game that follows this.
Benton taking on Maumelle.
Probably the two highest scoring teams in Arkansas high school boys basketball.
Then you look at tomorrow, the two perennial powerhouses in six AA girls, you got Fayetteville Enforcment North Northside duking it out at noon, and Springdale on Bryant and the boys in tomorrow wrap things up with the one eight championships, both squads.
The only team, the only school that has both the boys and girls in Championship weekend this year.
We'll be back in just a moment.
We're going to break this one down.
Get you set for five eight girls action here at Peacock Arena on Arkansas PBS sports.

With Clippers referee Derrick Lewis and his daughter, referee Erica Lewis, holding.
It's typical when someone grabs you by the jersey, by the arm of balancing.
Karl will be here with up close face.
You sit in a hold here and you give the number.
And that's what.
That's what holding is for.
Yeah.
And you showed me this.
Welcome inside Bank.
Okay.
Arena in Hot Springs is the five girls state championship game.
Getting set as Farmington taking on Greene County tech started off with the Farmington bracket.
And how they got here.
They routed little Rock Parkview by 40 in the opening round.
Not much of a test in the second round either as they took over Benton and then they tough test.
They were down by six points at halftime against Vilonia, but they rallied for the double digit victory.
And that's how the Lady Cardinals got to this point.
And the play of Casey McCumber is a big reason why the Cardinals are playing for another state championship.
They actually signed with Pitt State University out of Kansas, averaging nearly a double double.
Is Casey McCumber 12 points and eight rebounds per contest.
The keys for Farmington.
You got to keep on running.
Get up and down the floor.
They like to push the pace.
They score 73 points per contest and then you have to establish the freshman.
Easton McCullough five nine.
Freshman is one of the best players in the state.
Knocked down 134 three pointers this year for the lady cards.
All right, let's take a look at how Greene County Tech got here.
The Golden Eagles dominating in the opening round 66 to 34.
Then Bobby Little tighter race there 4234 to 15 point win over Mountain Home.
Edrington giving them 13 points in that one in the events.
An earlier loss to Mount Home lost earlier in the season 5738. Who to watch for for Greene County Tech.
How about you look at the guard play and he's going to get a big production from Maria Johnson.
She can go out and score 15 points eight rebounds per game.
Got a pair of Division one offers.
They're expecting those to roll in even more as she continues to play throughout the summer.
So if Greene County Tech wants to pull out a victory today and win a state championship, one of the big things they have to do is they have to handle the early flurry.
Farmington is a team of runs.
Can they handle it?
And more importantly, can they find a stop or a run?
Get a big bucket?
Can they rely on Johnson?
Can they rely on Maya Butler?
Who's it going to be?
They can get the bucket to stop a run for Farmington.
All right.
Let's take a look at our win Rock starting lineups now.
And we will start with Farmington.
And again a lot of clear faces here from that for a state title game.
Last year Bobby Marin Adams, a six foot senior 14 points a game for her Easton McCall.
You mentioned the freshman outstanding season so far, 20.6 points a game and wants to cap it off with this state title.
Gabby Burnette 2.8 points a game for her first year as A63 senior, and Casey McCumber, six one senior who's a leading rebounder at over eight a game and on their side for Greene County Tech.
Your winner Rock automotive starting lineup Sophia Gonzalez We've talked about a Maria Johnson, Westland versus side J.C, Edrington and Maya Butler.
That's the five that's going to start the game off for Greene County Tech.
They have some size.
Can they keep up with the speed of Farmington.
That was going to be the big question.
Well there's a lot of debate about whether Farmington Farmington's girls may be the best team overall in the entire state.
29 and one.
No losses to in-state competition.
And again, as you mentioned, just a dominating performance on the way here.
Had a little trouble.
Polonia had to work their way through there.
McCumber, you mentioned our player to watch 18 points and five boards in that semifinal game for Scheer's 14 points and eight rebounds.
So the stars who have been there in so many different situations over the years doing it all over again, and McCullough obviously hasn't played here before, but a lot of it's a championship game experience on this Farmington roster and we've seen a Butler and McCumber tipping it.
If Eagle is going to win the opening tip here.
And so it'll be Greene County Tech Bowl starting out here in the white uniforms Farmington in the Reds the black numerals.
And we'll see how Greene County tech gets underway.
And unfortunately for them a turnover right out of the gate right through the hands of J.C Edrington.
The senior couldn't handle the crosscourt pass and it goes right into the Farmington bench and we'll head the other way.
Jason Smith, in his third year as Greene County Tech Farmington, led by Brad Johnson, 16th season and leading this team to an undefeated conference record.
Lady Cardinals with it now a drive, the baseline shot and lane that may have been blocked got a second crack at it.
There's a foul McCumber goes up with it and got whacked by Maya Butler the six two senior.
And so she'll get free throws right out of the gate.
And about 30s into it.
We may have some points scored.
Had a slow start to our girls game earlier today.
Ended up being an incredibly entertaining ballgame, but defense sort of ruling the day early on.
This is a Farmington team that has so experienced been on this big stage before.
Bobby admittedly in a different classification, but I would think maybe fewer nerves, at least for some of them.
I don't know how you know.
We'll see how it used to be cold.
The freshman handles the lights of the state championship stage, but one zip early on.
Farmington gets one of two at the free throw line to instantly establish themselves inside.
Gets the offensive rebound.
She's someone that Greene County Tech has to get a body on that look.
Three pointer from the right wing.
No good for Edrington and the rebound for the Lady Cardinals.
Here comes Marin Adams right down the middle of the floor.
Three pointer straight away by Breshears is good.
And Farmington takes a 4 to 0 lead here a minute into this first quarter for sheer is one of four players averaging double figures on the season for Farmington.
She started her career tournament North side big shot early.
And there's a Greene County tick near turnover.
And we're going up with a jump ball possession arrow favoring the Lady Cardinals for exactly the start that you can't afford to have as your Greene County tech.
Not getting shots on the rim, turning the basketball over and not handling the nerves in the first minute.
14 and Brad Johnson again been there done that.
Looking calm on the sideline right now.
Focused but not nervous.
And yeah you're right I mean listen this is a Farmington team that does not need any help from you.
And if you don't come out sharp they can jump on you early trying to extend the four point lead on this possession.
Adams on the left wing box and one on McCullough.
Now we've seen her get anything going yet.
And understandably so.
High low.
And they missed the connection there.
McCumber couldn't handle the pass.
And they're a little bit off target there by Adams.
So a turnover by the lady Cardinals.
And we'll see if the Eagles can get some points on the other end.
Greene County Tech trying to break into the scoring column for the first time here.
Almost two minutes into the game.
Jump shot from Butler.
No battle for the rebound.
Back up and off the glass.
And Mariah Johnson her first points and the first points of this championship game for Greene County Tech.
It's really important to get them Maria Johnson going for Greene County Tech.
Start off the blocks mid week.
You're right face guarding Easton McCullough.
And that's that's a strategy that was used by Bologna as well in the semifinals.
And trying to take her out basically playing for four.
And you got to do that because McCullough went up for 34 against little Rock Parkview in the first round.
The state tournament in the first half had 36 in the contest.
She could absolutely light it up if you let her get her hands on the basketball.
Well, she's going to she's going to see a lot of different defenses during her career.
Here's a three pointer.
She got loose there.
Drills it from the left corner 43% three point shooter on the season.
And her first points of this state championship game.
She's got Farmington out to A72 lead prime example.
She comes off the screen down low goes corner to corner buries it Burnside going to try a straightaway.
Three dead rimmed it and it falls through Lynn Burnside.
She's a 31% three point shooter.
And what an athlete All-State in basketball softball volleyball.
She's got almost 100 career starts and answer on the other end.
Brashear is from the left wing.
Her second three of the game.
Just not fair.
When you've got A63 forward who could step out and knock down the deep ball, Brashear has already hit 210 to 5 now.
Farmington in a very entertaining game, the offensive execution very solid.
We've seen a lot of teams get off to slow starts offensively Bobby in these championship games.
These two teams locked in early.
Got to believe the experience for Farmington has a lot to do with that.
Shooting in this arena is tough for a lot of teams.
When you do it three straight years, it becomes a lot easier.
Sophia Gonzalez Between the circles eyeing the defense gets a nice screen.
Tough shot up left short, never got her shoulder squared up and a rebound by MC Burnett.
Brashear is going to try another one.
This one short battle for the rebound out off of the Lady Eagles.
And it'll stay with Farmington.
So look at the three pointer.
And boy you talk about getting a shooter's roll or whatever that is for Burnside by any means necessary.
You got to take it.
There's year for three.
Sweet stroke from the post player handoff.
And we got an illegal screen Sophia Gonzalez taking the brunt of that one.
But she draws a foul for her team.
And we'll head the other way.
Bodies hitting the floor.
Want to see a lot of that coming off screens for Farmington that time.
Green kind of tech takes the hit gets the turnover.
Gonzalez off a screen up top kicks the wing three pointer Burnside.
That's a little strong underneath.
Boy Maya Butler had a great shot and an offensive rebound.
Just couldn't quite corral it.
And so a missed opportunity there for a second chance for Green County Tech.
One thing I was really curious about to see how much Green County tech forced the pressure out.
I think they're going to be content with sagging off and making sure for McCullough doesn't beat you.
Our officials today, Lauren Thomas, David Durham, Scott Gifford had a lot of experience on that floor, a lot of collegiate experience for these officials.
And there's a less experienced individual, but one who balls out.
Easton McCullough.
Another bucket.
How about five for her early on.
And you can try to face guard all you want.
But she gets baskets.
And she played a little defense there too.
On J.C Edrington.
Burnside up top.
Patient offensive set.
Three pointer on the way for Edrington.
Knocked it down.
Double screen there.
Andrean comes off of it and hits the three Greene County tech using the long ball to stay with Farmington 12 to 8 and trying to keep an eye on McCullough.
And that is a tough assignment for Gonzalez.
Lost her for a moment in the lane short and Gonzalez collects the rebound pushing the pace.
Johnson three pointer that's too strong and McCullough there for the rebound.
So bring it up the middle of the floor McCullough seen a lot of basketball.
Of course her mother one of the assistant coaches for Farmington Jessica who has the school record for most points in the game between the leg dribble there lost the defender open look from three but couldn't knock it down.
And with 245 to go, Greene County Tech can make this a one possession game on this trip down.
If handled the early run, how do they handle the constant pressure for the Farmington offense?
Mario Johnson through traffic got an offensive rebound for a moment, but again, Maya Butler got to be a little strong with the ball.
Unable to secure that one but in position again.
Got to collect those when you can Adams gave it up.
Got it back high asking three pointer air ball and it will go back to the Lady Eagles.
Here's our media timeout.
It is Farmington and 12 Greene County Tech eight.

Balanced scoring attack so far for Greene County, Texas.
Need a little more of it.
Two for Johnson, three for Burnside.
Edenton with three as well.
Burnside hitting from long range on the other side, it's really been a two headed monster.
McCullough with five outstanding freshman and Brashear with a couple of three pointers.
Six points for her.
But comers chipped in with a point as well.
Back to action Greene County Tech try to chip away at this four point deficit.
One of these teams have lost in 20 2519 straight wins for Farmington, 24 consecutive victories for the Greene County Tech Lady Eagles.
What a drive by Burnside under the defenders.
Odom draws the contact bucket and the harm, and she's got a chance to get her team within one point here.
Of course, you can never lose a game in the first four minutes, but you certainly can dig yourself a big hole.
The Greene County tech keeping things close in the first six minutes here against Farmington.
It shows that they belong.
Shows that they can compete.
It's a 72% free throw shooter.
And again, I just a marvel at the fact that she's all state in three sports.
Bobby, that is incredible.
Love to see it play all the sports.
Don't don't specialize specialize in team.
Official PSA from Justin and I go we're going to see Brooklyn baller later on two she's headed to volleyball play volleyball for SFA.
So get some multi-sport athletes for sure.
Across the board of Greene County Tech.
You know, I went to a small school and I love it.
I got a chance as a marginal athlete to play a lot of different sports.
It was a great way to grow up, for sure.
Get down in trouble.
There's a steal by Johnson.
Greene County Tech wants to run.
Here comes Addie.
Ryan just entered the game the sophomore five three ever to six a game.
But lucky they're avoiding it over and back.
Gonzalez just across the timeline in time and a chance.
Come up for Greene County Tech to take a lead here Farmington led by as much as seven already.
The Greene County tech is chipped away a chance to take that first lead.
As you just mentioned.
Burnside going to work.
Kicks to the wing Maddie Ryan back up top to Gonzalez.
Seven on the shot clock.
Gonzalez in the lane kicking out.
Tipped away good hands by Marion Adams.
And three on the shot clock.
Minute 12 left here in the first quarter.
Got to go quickly for Greene County Tech.
Catch and shoot.
See what Burnside could do with it.
First of all you got to get it in.
Ryan's got it going away from the basket so far.
One up at the buzzer may have been partially blocked I think it was.
And we're going to head the other way as Farmington attacks.
Three pointer McCullough in and out.
That was halfway down.
Nice rebound by Maria Johnson.
She's a thousand points scorer but averages nearly eight rebounds a game to just a junior.
Her best basketball is definitely in front of her.
Already got some offers Utah Martin Saint Louis should be playing in college for sure.
Burnside, left wing.
Nick Burnett guarding her, fighting her way inside.
We're going to get a jump ball and that'll stay with Greene County Tech with 13 on the shot clock, 39 seconds left here in the first quarter.
Great job McMurray had to give Brown.
But also you can see it here.
His hands on the basketball I think it's a good call by forces to tie up.
The arrow is going to be with Greene County Tech now.
The Ryan triggering from the baseline and the double zero.
Sometimes one zero is not enough.
For a bank accounts the Jersey numbers here.
Yeah.
Well we were talking about it's me I know it's one kickout Ryan didn't get that one off.
Boy they've been caught at the end of the shot clock a couple of times.
And let's get some credit to that lady Cardinals defense everywhere.
They need to be at the right time.
And it's making it awfully difficult.
They don't want to fall behind.
And they can hold for the final shot.
You know we saw in the previous game in the boys title game in Florida, I thought some missed opportunities for Moralton to take the last shot went early and Mills end of scoring at two end of two different quarters on the last shot because Moralton didn't run off the clock.
And we'll see what Farmington does here with the experience they've got.
And having been here before, my guess is they're not going to give Greene County another opportunity here in this quarter.
McCullough to the corner for three off the side of the backboard.
It's going to go out of bounds.
So bad news good news bad news.
You missed it badly.
Good news.
They will not get much of a shot with the second and a half left.
So a little pressure in the back court.
Make sure you can't roll it up.
Yeah they may get a desperation heave here.
But then again maybe not.
And that's going to do it.
Foul there did enter the game there but did not get an opportunity to do anything with it.
After one.
It's Farmington by one over Greene County tech entertaining game.
It's all birds all the time.
Cardinals over Eagles after one.

Time to test the knowledge as our Arkansas Governor's Quiz Bowl game question.
Oh, the day Farmington's won 56 consecutive conference games until.
That's good.
It's third most in state history.
Who holds the record and how many answer forthcoming.
Who does the research on these trivia questions?
That's all.
Or know some work.
That's a dig deep.
Yeah.
We've got we've got the triple AA minions to dive deep into the record book.
So you mean that's great.
Bobby is his own minion.
I am indeed.
It's going to be Farmington basketball.
First year will throw it in.
She had an excellent first quarter.
Couple of three pointers for her getting her team off to a good start.
But they're in a tight one here.
One point game after one Nikola left open three on the way.
Splash and Easton McCullough with another long range bomb.
Just can't leave four open for Farmington.
This one's got a foul in the back four.
Just the slightest of open space for Easton McCullough.
And she's going to Bernie the freshman is a sniper assassin from deep.
Yeah.
You can't afford to come out sleepy to start a quarter and let her get loose.
And, Jason Smith having a little visit with Sofia Gonzalez.
We'll put it that way.
Not happy with the defense.
She has drawn the assignment and unfortunately did not find number four on the other team.
Burnside driving, tough angle.
No offensive rebound.
Johnson up and no tipped up in the air.
Kickout crashing the offensive glass.
Excellent job here by Greene County Tech inside Johnson this time draws the foul from Brashear.
Try try and try again.
And the Lady Eagles have earned there themselves a trip to the free throw line here Johnson 65% on the season.
Second and third opportunities will drive a coach.
Wild Greene Kenny Tech and shot after shot.
Just couldn't get it to go.
Johnson's first free throw good Greene County Tech back within three.
Settles.
Dribbles.
Spins, shoots good.
Johnson good start to this one.
She was the player to watch.
And you can see why.
Just a junior.
But boy incredible upside for her.
And she's got her team back within two lady Cardinals attacking immediately Morgan you were into the game for the first time today.
There's a bucket up and good for Marin Adams Emma you are A56 senior.
She average is about five points a game.
Very good outside shooter as well.
Makes Farmington so difficult to defend.
They have got four scorers in double figures as he turns it over in the back court.
You just can't focus on one player.
Of course a lot of attention is going to go to McCullough, but they've got plenty of weapons that can burn you as Marin Adams with the pull up, uses the window and gets a deuce.
1713 653 to play here.
Farmington with the ball and the lead today working Maya Butler's working hard inside trying to deny the Farmington post players good work with the ball inside.
And then Marion Adams turned it over.
Dandy ball handling and then trying to pass it in active hands by Greene County Tech results in the turnover baseline jumper no ball knocked around to Maya Butler.
Extra chance Burnside three short Johnson into their offensive rebound.
She's back up.
She's back to the line.
Offensive rebounds are keeping Greene County Tech in this Farmington has got to get in the lane get a body on a body five offensive rebounds now for the Lady Eagles doing work on the offensive glass.
Johnson missed that one after a two for two Tripp moments ago January 1st.
Brashear is getting a breather here in the second.
Free throw is short.
Bad trip there.
But she's going to get her own rebound and we're going to result in a jump ball.
It'll stay with Greene County Tech.
So Johnson excellent work there after missing her two free throws, tries to make up for it and earns her team an extra possession.
It seems like all the 5050 balls, all the plays are going away in the first quarter and a half.
17, 13 baseline inbound.
Here we go.
And the Butler hand off to Gonzalez and it's turned over.
Here comes McCullough.
Good retreat by Greene County Tech defensively.
Oh.
Open again.
Deep three that time McCullough.
No battle for the rebound.
Out of bounds off of the Cardinals.
Great effort there by McCumber.
Bodies diving all over the floor to try to keep that play alive.
You just cannot give that much space to McCullough I don't think we need I'm not going to keep harping on it, but she can just absolutely torture from outside.
Yeah, well, she she may make someone she's being guarded.
Jeff I they want to give her a clean look.
Here comes Gonzalez up to Burnside straightaway.
Three pointer on the way.
That's no good.
Johnson trying to battle good.
Box out by Burnett, keeping Johnson off the offensive glass.
And Johnson will draw the foul.
Has a great job on the box out there Johnson has been such a menace on the boards.
35 rebounds for the Lady Eagles.
But that time she picks up the foul.
Yeah Burnett does the job.
Those are the you know those are the plays that you know really don't go into.
And a stat sheet.
But that's a heck of a play there.
That's a winning play by MC Burnett McCullough took it a pretty soft reach in there.
Didn't see a lot of contact.
Maybe holding her up there for Gonzalez again.
I mean what an exhausting defensive assignment for a nightmare.
My coach tells me I got to guard Easton McCullough.
I'm like, why do you hate me?
I mean, what a tough gig.
Yeah, Sofia Gonzalez is going to earn the sleep she gets tonight, no doubt.
Nice endure in, inbounds play.
Crosscourt to McCumber, layup off the glass of contact but no call.
So the lead is now six.
Critical moments here for Greene County Tech one to keep this team at arm's length.
Don't want to let them stretch this lead up too much further.
Gonzalez spinning off of a screen.
Feed inside.
Johnson falling away.
No, but she's going back to the line again.
Johnson living at the line with 511 left.
And these free throws critical.
Missed both of them last time.
Did a great job establishing position down low.
They found her.
And you're exactly right.
If she's going to get to the foul line as many times as she is in the second quarter, you got to be able to convert Maggie, call A56 senior into the game for the first time today for Greene County, set.
Up.
That one's no good again now to make these pay.
And we've talked a lot about it on these different broadcasts.
Pat Bradley, my good buddy who's a pretty good player in his day, a bad analyst now but always talks about it.
You got to make your free throws and layups.
And there you go Johnson on the second one does get it down 65%.
Free throw shooter on the season is Johnson.
And she is three of six here in the first half.
Now she keeps this up.
She's going to get to the line a whole lot more for the day is over Adams.
She's getting to the line as well.
Got bumped by Burnside.
Got the bucket and she'll get a chance to add another point.
But great body control by Adams.
The crossover gets into the lane and you can see there absorbs the contact.
Able to finish off the glass.
Marin Adams averages 14 points per game.
Signed with Pitt State as well.
Converts the three point play with 501 left.
Farmington by seven, now with North.
Greene County Tech has never led in this one and eight the largest lead for Farmington right now.
There they are, 22 to 14.
Burnside couldn't handle the pass.
Lost it.
Literally couldn't find it as it went through her hands.
And then Farmington throws it away.
Gonzalez Sophia on the spot.
Going the other way.
Wild layup.
No battle for the rebound.
And it goes out of bounds.
It's.
And I think it's going to stay with the Eagles for 40.
Here comes Reese Junior for Farmington.
Will get a breather.
For 39 to go.
Well you feel like these next couple of minutes very key for Green County tech Bobby.
Just do not want to try to come back with a whole bunch down against this Farmington box.
That is such a good offensive team, but also make things tough on you defensively.
I don't get enough credit for that end of the floor.
Yeah exactly right.
That two possessions already with the shot clock running down.
They've made GCS work for everything.
That's a solid reach in there by MC Burnett.
She made such a good play earlier in that box out and done some really good things.
But that was going to be a tough shot on the runner for Edrington.
And she bailed her out to 75% free throw shooter.
This is her 107th career start.
A lot of experience J.C Jaycee knocks the free throw down.
There you go Farmington already over five fouls in the quarter.
So green Kenny Tech who shot eight free throws through the first quarter and a half going to be in the bonus the rest of the way.
Charity stripe going to be big for the Eagles to keep this one pulse here in the first half.
Now those two were perfect to get her to the line a whole lot more.
For the free throw shooting is been pretty ubiquitous so far here.
Two out of three for Farmington and six out of nine so far for Greene County.
Many more times they get there before the end of the half.
Foul trouble already could becoming a problem for Farmington.
McCumber Breshears Burnett already have two personal fouls each and there's a foul on Gonzalez.
That's her second, I believe took McCullough down.
And that's going to be huge since she's drawn that assignment.
We'll see what Greene County Tech and Jason Smith come up with defensively.
And if she stays in the game or not, Jason Smith did not like that call.
He thought it was a flop by McCullough.
Oh knocked out of bounds.
It'll stay here with Farmington with four.
Way to go.
Houston McCullough averaging almost 21 points a game.
Eight already tonight on a three of eight start.
Wondering about college offers for eastern McCullough.
The answer is yes.
In certain schools.
Say yes.
Oh a dart across court you can handle it goes into the Greene County Tech bench.
And that's going to be our media timeout.
357 remaining.
Farming tonight with the lead.
Green County Tech with the ball.
When we return here to Banco de care.

All right.
Time to take a look at our Arkansas PBS student all star.
It's Jake Edrington from Greene County.
Tech hit a couple of free throws a little bit ago, and the senior guard with a 4.17 GPA heading to Arkansas State University to become a physical therapist.
Getting it done on the court and in the classroom.
Jayce Edwards and showing off on the floor one seven.
I don't even know how that happens.
Just an acreage type.
Numbers.
Yeah.
I wish I don't think we could get over a four point when I was in school.
I don't know how that works these days.
Schools, kids are taking advanced courses, participation trophies in the GPA classroom these days.
I mean, getting over a four point was not a concern of mine.
That was a late call there.
I think the right one, though.
And Lauren Thomas whistled it, but they had.
That almost happened one other time.
And again just an unforced error by the Eagles.
You can't have it.
Here's the replay I guess without it a little bit later.
But yeah, she she was still standing in the back court when it was past him.
And so Edrington and her teammates got to communicate a little bit better there.
And there's a foul on Brooklynn Bowdler, the five seven senior got that's the fifth.
We're shooting free throws here.
So the final 343 could see a lot of trips to the foul line.
As both teams now in the bonus.
Nobody in double digits yet.
But McCullough with two free throws would get to ten here.
I mean that's a baby faced assassin right there my friend.
No question about it.
She missed the first one, but it's a lot of hours in the gym.
Of course, when your parents a coach, that's all you do is live, breathe and die of the sport.
My mother was a really good basketball player.
It looks like daughter is certainly following those footsteps.
No doubt about that.
She's at nine for the game now.
Her team up by seven and counting.
Checked out of play.
Queen can't afford to turn the ball over without help from the opponent inside.
Johnson trying to pull away against the double team.
Ball tipped.
Marianne Adams has it heading the other way.
Going to take it all the way in.
Up off the glass.
Too strong.
And Johnson good hustle back.
And that should have been a foul.
The late whistle.
There's a reason.
Yeah.
And Adams and Johnson falls to the court.
And initially in pretty good shape there on the double team that they reached in.
And they're going to put it on the line all the way at the other end of the court.
Not a get fouled there.
Frustration foul there.
You missed the wide open layup.
There's Adams and you foul 90ft away from your own basket when you're already in the bonus.
Not a good sequence there for Farmington is green.
Can tech takes advantage.
39 free throws attempts in this first half.
It's going to be ten and 11 for.
Johnson again not that time.
That will be something to work on for senior year.
And the thing is the way she plays you know she's going to get there a lot no doubt.
Got to convert though.
It's just free points are giving up already a thousand point score and doesn't get the roll on that one either.
Boy tough trip there.
It's one thing to earn the trip.
It's another thing to make it pay off.
Three of eight from the foul line is Johnson.
No.
Okay.
303 remaining here.
Johnson will go with the sideline inbound for Adams.
McCullough with nine.
Gonzalez in there a couple of fouls.
She's close to getting the third McCullough driving layup.
No good rebound by Butler.
Secures it.
Gets it to Burnside.
Up the right side and out of the middle of the floor to the left wing.
Tough running shot.
No for Edrington.
Not a real high percentage attempt there with 2.5 minutes to go and a walk on the other end.
Boy, that's a tough break.
You were drilled that three pointer, but it will not count.
She took steps first and a break for the Eagles.
Two steps and a half equals a travel unless you're in the NBA.
Well yeah.
Then it's dandy.
Yeah it's Green County tech really struggling from the floor though Justin four of 18 Johnson.
Boy I thought you had Butler there to feed her in the post.
I would like to have seen him try it.
He's got six foot restaurant on her size advantage.
But they didn't go inside to her.
Burnside going to drive all the way in off the glass.
And good.
There's the athleticism from West Burnside, the five nine senior gets a bucket and her team's back within five.
She has eight tonight.
Great first step there with a blow by by McCullough.
There's nothing but lights and an easy lay in.
Yeah she's as good an athlete as there is on the floor and will be the entire night.
And again, just multifaceted, bringing in an illegal screen.
Gabby Burnett I'd like to see the replay on that one.
I don't know if she was set or not, but that's her third and she did definitely slide into that one.
She tried to sell and she got run over, but I think excellent job there by the officiating crew.
And obviously the Farmington folks did not see it that way.
But Greene County took a chance now again, to make it a one possession game with 151 remaining.
And they keep McBurney McMillan it out there with those three fouls.
And a five second call out top boy again just a mental error.
He go back to the over and back unnecessarily by Greene County tech that time Hendrickson not really being pressure just hanging out up there.
Got to move.
Got to get the ball out of your hands.
And you just can't give Farmington free possessions.
Paying the price.
Adams looks inside now McCullough cutting passing baseline jumper.
No off the back of the iron Johnson good rebound.
And here comes Edrington in the offense McCullough defending over to Butler.
Now she'll go inside from deep three Burnside straight away.
Got it.
And how about 2320 12. game with a minute to go in this first half Burnside with 11 two of four from the three point line.
But she faithful getting into it.
Well we heard nothing but hype about this Farmington team and they are certainly worthy of it.
But Greene County tech not intimidated.
Fans are on their feet here at Bank Oak Arena.
Adams to the free throw line jumper off the glass and sometimes you'll take an answer any way you can get it.
15 footer from the elbow.
It's after 630, but the banks still open.
Well, you're in a bank sponsored arena, I guess it always is.
2521 three second differential in game and shot clock inside Johnson turnaround.
Never got set.
Didn't like that shot.
Never got in rhythm there.
Never squared up and trying to force one up.
Didn't get a call.
And now wisely it'll be a Farmington hold for one.
Adams three pointer didn't banked that one in.
And a good rebound to close out the half for Maya Butler.
So we will go to the halftime break 2521 Farmington the number one team in five a getting pushed by this talented green County tech team.
We've got a good one on her hands.
Stick around.

Hey, everybody.
Steve Sullivan here live with Christina munoz.
It's halftime at Bank Oak Arena in Hot Springs.
But don't go anywhere because we've got a lot in store for you.
In the early 1990s, a remarkable chapter in Arkansas basketball history was about to unfold at Arkansas Tech University under the leadership of Coach Jo Foley, the Golden Suns weren't just chasing victories, they were building a program that would inspire generations.
This is the story of Back-To-Back National championships that did more than fill trophy cases.
It created a legacy of excellence that continues to shape Arkansas basketball today.
We had great team chemistry.
He was a great coach and we won back to back national championships.
They were really successful before we got there.
Jimmy Edgar, I think pretty well started the program and Jim Dixon to cover of.
So it was a very successful program and I got to take over.
There was an assumption, a false assumption that women couldn't do what the men were doing.
Their first experience of playing full court basketball was when they came to college.
But when Coach Foley came, he really put the misconception aside.
Basically, this team wanted to do something nobody thought they could do, and nobody expected them to do except themselves when it came to recruiting.
He was very honest, frank about what his expectations were going to be.
You know, everybody wants to win, but not everybody wants to prepare the way.
And this team understood the preparation, how hard it was.
He was very detail oriented in his motion offense.
We would repeat the same drills over and over and over.
When you believe in something, you got to really give yourself to learn.
And those kids were disciplined to get better each day.
As a coach, I had to get better each day.
And it all kind of accumulated at the end.
And they ended up being an unbelievable basketball team.
Things just kind of flowed kind of easily that year, and I kind of sat there after it was over when the Final Four, and so we won by 15 or 16.
And I thought, this is all there is to it, because I think we just blew everybody up.
There were times and glasses and, and they were mentally challenging to play against.
And by the end of the game, they had won the game not only physically but mentally.
The practices were actually tougher than the games.
That's what separates us from a lot of teams is is the preparation.
We just screened ran screens, pass cut.
That's just the motion offense.
We had a target on our back.
We were all returning and we knew that.
So it was way more difficult.
He did not call a timeout.
He told us he trusted us.
Hey, you know how to play basketball?
Just go make a play.
We've worked on this.
The defense kind of spread because they knew that he was going to deliver the ball all the way to those, and all of a sudden he sees the case.
He's got great awareness as he sees where they're all covered.
He drove back.
They made a great pass and there was nobody guarding me.
It was kind of lucky.
It wasn't like it was a tough shot in the lead in a layup as the shot clock, you know, we were at the wall and I was just blessed to be able to make it.
Have been successful.
They were on a late finals team last year.
We're all close and know each other really well.
It's just a good bond and I think it helps us during the game.
Sometimes he's very strict sometimes, but like that just makes us better with our team.
Last year we got to a very high position like where nobody else was tired of hammering them to do something.
You got to encourage them to believe in themselves.
Gets to our point across.
I like the way she coaches because she knows what's best for us.
I learned why he did what he did.
He pushed us to be the best we could be to get outside of our own comfort zone.
If you set your high expectations, high, you're going to get to get up there pretty good.
Winning is not the ultimate.
It wasn't about the X's and O's.
It was about the people.
You know, we don't just teach in basketball.
We teach them life skills.
I just want them to be good people.
These kids need to know all the time that I love them that I'll do anything for them.
But once we cross those lines, there's going to be a high expectation and a high standard that I'm going to expect them to play and I'm going to be on them.
But when I walk off the court, I'm going to hug them, tell them I love them, and we're going to move on to the next day.
Putting the pieces together each year, trying to figure out the best way for that team to play, the best way to help those kids become a great team.
That's the joy.
Winning's great, but ultimately the relationships you have with these kids when they go off.
I would tell players all the time, do you make me a better coach?
And they look at me and say, why?
And I'd say, because I don't want to let you down.
And you didn't fail them.
And when you had great players, they gave you everything.
You keep going on there.
You got to go.
You got to figure it out.
From those unforgettable championship seasons in 1992 and 93, the Golden Suns impact resonates far beyond the court.
Through coaches like Karen Pinion, McNabb, the spirit of excellence and determination that Jo Foley instilled lives on in gyms across Arkansas.
Here at Arkansas PBS, we celebrate these champions who showed us that true greatness isn't just about winning titles, but passing the torch to future generations.
Now let's toss it over to Christina.
She's going to introduce you to some very talented athletes.
Christina.
That's right.
Thanks, Steve.

She has a 4.1 GPA and likes to cook, shop, and hang out with friends.
And finally, for the six eight boys, we have Kellan Robinson with the Bryant Hornets.
Kellen plans to play basketball at UCLA.
He has a 3.75 GPA and enjoys playing basketball and working out.
Congratulations and keep up the good work.
All right Steve, it is about that time.
All right.
Yes it is.
Christina.
Let's get back to the bank arena for the second half.
That's right here on the home of the high school basketball state finals.

Given millions of.
Welcome back here to Banco SSC arena.
Farmington.
Up at the break.
25 to 21.
Take a look at our highlights from the first half.
And kind of an uneven start here.
Green County Tech had their moments, but good defense by Farmington forcing a couple of turnovers and then some unforced errors by Green County Tech.
And then right there and over and back again some silly mistakes but Green County tech hanging in there fighting hard.
Johnson battling inside getting to the free throw line.
Here's Brashear hitting a three pointer.
She was very good in the first half shooting it.
And that shot by Maren Adams got us to where we are now to a four point margin at the half with Farmington up by four.
Second half action underway.
Here we go.
Colonels in to start the second half with the ball.
Baseline drive McCullough to Brashear from 14ft.
Get it out.
That was half down.
Maybe two thirds of the way down.
That one just spins out.
Really nice set play there for Farmington.
McCullough gets baseline.
Defense converges.
Breshears left wide open the lane.
Just couldn't get it to go.
Some be a sideline inbound for Burnside who had a really nice first half 11 points lead her team.
Backdoor cut make it 13 for Burnside.
Good find by Mya Butler.
Good finish by Burnside who's got a baker's dozen.
Him.
It's a two point game.
West Linn Burnside having herself a day here in Hot Springs.
First year out beyond the three point line.
A handoff to McCullough.
Gonzalez back on that defensive assignment.
McCullough crossing over.
Goodbye.
The baseline.
Back out.
Good ball movement.
Brashear three.
Excellent offensive set there by the Cardinals.
And it all started with the McCullough penetration getting the defense shifting.
And then a wide open look for Brashear from the right wing.
Her third three of the game.
Second half starting similar to the first half getting Brashear is open and she knocks down a triple.
Burnside can't answer.
Back of the iron Johnson crashing the offensive glass shot in the lane.
No ball tipped at Johnson again.
Shot blocked by Brashear.
Here comes McCullough.
Farmington doing work on the defensive end.
Johnson.
Relentless though.
And you know she'll keep attacking.
McCullough losing Gonzalez again needs to give a little more space there.
Bobby can't stay right on top of her.
Got to give her a little bit of space.
Just enough for she does get an open look for three.
There's a bucket for Adams drives and the arm.
Great body control off the contact gets the score and the foul.
Heading to the free throw line.
Push the lead to seven.
She's got nine and a chance to get into double figures.
The first Farmington player to do so.
We saw that almost identical play in the first half.
Adams used the crossover to create some separation.
Get to the rim.
Converted the three point play in the first half.
Have to wait after a Green County Tech timeout to see if she can do it here at half number two this game going on we've already got a couple on the books from today.
Again congratulations to the Queen.
You know they are celebrating back there.
And Mills at Moralton a good one.
Earlier Mills coming back for a victory in the fourth quarter.
Now Benton the ball Mills our five a nightcap for the boys.
So we asked you earlier to get your thinking.
Carter, on Farmington's 156 consecutive conference games, it's third longest in state history.
Who holds the state record?
How about Star City?
144 consecutive conference victories that spanned 11 seasons, 2008 through 2018?
Yeah, that is the minions.
We're digging deep.
That's incredible.
Can't even imagine.
And we actually saw their coach for those a lot of those teams Becky Yarbrough coaching Pulaski Academy earlier today.
Look at that segue.
Transition buddy.
You're a wealth of not just a fount of knowledge.
Almost like who's playing that way.
Rebound inside off the miss bucket up and good.
Macomber a backbreaker of a possession for Farmington and the lead pushed to nine.
All of a sudden five for McCumber.
Averages 12.
Eagles need to get going here.
Every time it looks like Farmington's going to pull away.
Eagles have had a bit of an answer.
Gonzalez feeding inside.
Not a great pass.
Turned it over.
Never got on the same page.
You were back in the game early on here in the second half.
McCullough to the middle of the floor.
Off to Adams behind the back.
Dribble in the paint.
Kick out and off to McCullough.
Goes to the baseline.
Shot up in the lane.
Good.
And Gonzalez again not knocking her.
It's a tough draw.
But you got to give some ground and a timeout.
Graves has seen enough.
The lead pushed to 11 and largest of the day.
And Jason Smith trying to put a little Band-Aid on this one for the moment.
It is getting rough out there Farmington taking control here in this five eight girls championship.
The create ability for Easton McCullough has been brilliant, impressive.
We've seen her come off screens on the perimeter game.
But for our ability to get to the lane and create some things has been really impressive.
And for a freshman for this year, knocks down the triple.
Marin Adams has been involved in it with the steal.
Easton McCullough is doing it.
Farmington showing off all the weapons.
And they've got a double digit lead for the first time here in the third.
Adams doing a great job.
She's dishing them out and taking them herself.
Doing a little bit of everything and showi 537 to go.
And Greene County Tech rev up that Big Eagle engine.
If they want to stay in this game.
Johnson to Butler.
Gonzalez on the run attacking inside.
Scoop shot up and down.
Big bucket for Gonzalez.
Her first points of the game.
And it came at a critical time.
Absorb the contact there.
It might have been a foul.
Able to finish either way.
Breashears with the answer.
No battle for the rebound.
Johnson beats everybody to it.
She's done so many times tonight.
So Greene County Tech out of the timeout.
Got what they wanted.
Got a bucket.
Got a stop and deep three Burnside in and out.
That would have been huge.
Could have got it back to it.
Eight point game.
But it's nine right now.
But it got back to a six point game.
Excuse me.
And there's a steal Johnson forgot the ball now.
Picks it up and then nearly turns it over McCullough.
Staying with it.
But they do get it.
Dangerous pass.
Baseline drive and a foul on Farmington on the Edrington Drive.
And again I think a little bit of a bail out there.
I mean that's a tough running shot on the baseline.
That's why you got to let her put up.
And to me, there's no value in swinging at that one.
That's a second foul on Adams.
But we just highlighted she's doing a little bit of everything.
Two for two earlier.
It's great job by Edmonson to get baseline and get the step on the defender but can't convert at the foul line.
And that's becoming a trend for Greene County tech today.
Struggles at the foul line.
Just six of 12 now from the stripe.
Gonzalez will get a breather.
Bowdler back in the second free throw with 444 to go.
Trying to get this to an eight point game.
And the second one is good.
So with 444 to go Greene County Tech back within eight.
Need a series of stops.
Better or easier said than done.
But so far, I mean look, their defense has kept a minute.
This is a Cardinals team that can put up big points 70 points twice, almost 80 in a couple of state tournament games.
The offense has been solid.
Made some more points on the offensive end.
McCullough into the paint feeding inside.
Stolen away.
And then a foul.
It's going to be on Easton McCullough.
That's where the size and the length of Maya Butler comes into play.
McCullough gets into the six foot two senior in the lane instead of attacking her tries to go off the pass.
Forces the turnover and then draws the foul.
Yeah I think it also helped inside of they got a hand in there to to help sort of shield the clean connection there on the pass.
Pretty good idea by McCullough.
Just didn't execute that one.
Butler with it on the left wing.
Up to Burnside guarded by McCumber, will get it off to the right wing.
Into Johnson.
Runs into a brick wall.
Kicks across court three from the corner.
Huge three pointer from J.C Edrington, 38% from three this year and her team is back within five.
Definitely needed that to bring Kenny Tech inside.
Great defense.
Oh my butler got a tough whistle there on the turnaround.
Jump on the baseline for McCumber.
Got to see this one again.
I thought she was straight up.
Did she come down.
That's the way the official saw it.
And that's going to be our media timeout.
Let's take a peek at this one before we go.
Oh boy that's a tough one.
Pretty good defense there Maya Butler.
But it will be free throws coming up for McCumber when we return.
And she's nearly 80% on the season.

Free throws upcoming for McCumber fouled by Butler.
According to the officials, will make it 3529 with 338 to go.
Their opinion matters more than ours.
I've heard my opinion is irrelevant.
I just thought that was a little bit, It's a tough call.
Let's just say it that way.
If the clock was running there as we're shooting free throws, the shot clock was all the way down to 25 by Memphis.
That means 10s ran off the clock.
They will reset quickly.
Second one for McCumber.
He's got six on the day.
2 or 3 at the free throw line.
Second one is good.
3629.
Farmington back up seven.
The pressure in the back court.
Now they break it.
Well, they attack cross court baseline and that's a foul on Breashears.
Excellent move there by Burnside I think smart to attack as the defense was recovering.
And she went right into the chest of Breashears.
And we'll see.
That's her third foul.
Now.
Still 327 left in the third quarter.
Burnside doing work like she needs a tire shoe there.
Bobby well, worried about that, but she made the free throw with Burnett.
And for Sears now a three fouls each for Farmington.
McCumber Adams with two.
We're only halfway home here in the third.
So fouls could be an issue for Farmington.
Toeing the line literally.
And a good trip for Burnside.
Two for two.
And her team within five.
She's got 14.
And she's going to get a breather here and might have to go in small here.
Addie Ryan the five three sophomore.
Jump it in.
See how long Burnside sits.
She is the key cog here tonight.
Kamaria Johnson's had her moments as well.
She stays in the game and he goes in the man to man.
For she's guarded by Johnson now.
Hands it to Adams.
Driving shooting it off the glass.
No rising up.
Butler for the rebound.
Really good defensive contest there to go straight up Gonzalez crosscourt catch shoot three Ryan.
So a great substitution by Jason Smith.
Addie Ryan fresh in the game and drills a three sophomore right off the bench.
Not afraid of the moment.
Two point game.
Eagles with old momentum go in their direction.
Good defense here.
And a timeout by the Farmington bench.
Oh my goodness excellent by Greene County.
Great cross court fine and no hesitation Addie Ryan buckets beautiful look Brashear is running at her.
You're five three.
She's six three and you fire it up in her face.
No fear and whatsoever for the sophomore and a big shot.
Greene County Tech has answered the run.
That was one of the keys to the game.
Do you have an answer here for Farmington?
Run has had one every step of the way.
And that's why this was a one possession contest.
Well, listen, it's the week of the Irish.
Miss Ryan, Irish name Greene County Tech.
Do they have the luck on their side tonight, Bobby?
That's the question.
I see what you're saying there.
I got a theme going here as a team.
Has been to the state championship game six years in a row.
May not care about your color in the green.
Yeah, you can take your luck and take it back to Green County.
She got the.
Well, I went to a, my high school is the Eagles two, and I or our girls team got beat one year 80 to 1.
This team is way, way better than that.
They're doing a heck of a job here in the state championship game.
Just a skosh better.
Yeah.
Drive inside.
Great defense.
Johnson picking McCullough's pocket and then a tie up by McCumber.
And it will be Green County Tech basketball.
So they earn themselves a possession here and a chance to tie or take the lead.
They have had exactly zero leads today Bobby.
Can they do it on this possession and maybe get Farmington a little uncomfortable?
Farmington showing a little full-court pressure as well.
We haven't seen them try to speed up the game yet.
Now here late in the third they're going to try something different.
That's a foul by McCullough.
And a silly one in the back court.
That's the fourth foul on Farmington here.
So maybe losing their composure.
Just a hair as Green County Tech makes the run back.
Exactly what you're talking about A silly foul can't afford to have that.
McCullough picks up her second 65ft away from the basket.
Yeah well I guess we should remember that she is a freshman.
She doesn't play, like, most of the time, but 36, 34.
Big opportunity here for Green County Tech.
Can they avoid making the mistake of.
Bad spacing turnover and a foul.
That was a bad bad bad bad spacing bad pass.
And then a bad foul by the Eagles.
They can't get out of their own way when they get an opportunity.
They did such a good job to get themselves a shot.
But look at the bad spacing here.
You got two players standing right by each other Adams heads up play.
The senior pokes her hand in there and steals it away.
Draws the foul.
I don't mind the foul so much.
It does prevent the breakaway.
Like sure.
McCullough inside drops it off straight up blocked.
Beautiful play by Butler.
Great pass.
Even better defense there by love denies McCumber at the basket.
148 to go.
And again Greene County Tech at the same position.
Can they tie it or take the lead.
Running through their offensive set.
Gonzalez.
And that time she got knocked down.
No call for the scrape herself back up to the wing.
Eight seconds.
Gonzalez seven driving spinning cross court outside Bowdler pull up jumper no.
And a good box on a rebound by McCumber.
Down low.
Really great offensive seven.
Good defense by far.
Every time Greene County Tech has a chance to try to take the lead Farmington defense rises to the occasion.
It puts up a good possession McCullough 17 footer here has been driven snow with 108 to go 3834 Farmington extends the lead a two possession again.
And look who's coming to that scorer's table.
Westland Burnside her team took care her while she was out.
And they're gonna let her come back in at the end of this quarter if they get a stoppage in play.
Gonzalez inside spinning shooting at the rim.
No boy great position by Butler.
Just couldn't finish it off.
That's one where I want to see her.
Maybe get set a little bit better.
But Comer's going right to work her scoops no good.
Good defense that time without fouling by Butler.
Johnson gets a Gonzalez to bring across the timeline thing.
I've noticed Farmington starting to do every time Johnson gets the ball down low.
They're running the second defender immediately at her making her give up the basketball 17 second shot clock's off.
Not a good shot at all.
Why do you not hope for one there.
Edrington with a very difficult shot.
And you give Farmington a shot at an extra possession here.
Five seconds.
Four seconds.
McCullough from the corner for three.
And that's exactly why you've got to take the final shot.
And they pay the price.
So Farmington answers the call, pushed, but they don't let Green County tech get tighter in the lead, and they push it back to a seven point lead 4134 through three.
And there's the three pointer from the super freshman eastern McCullough.

Bobby.
Over and over again through these finals and I realize these are 16, 17, 18 year old players, but we're in game 32, three, 4 or 5 depending on where you are.
End of the shot clock, end of the quarter.
You've got to hold for one when you've got an opportunity and a missed opportunity for the Eagles there, and they took a really tough shot.
It's not like they got a great look and took a great shot.
They took a tough shot and then gave Farmington an extra possession.
There's a pick off right back into the game.
Burnside making an impact.
But again you give them three points at the end of the quarter to make it a seven point game.
It's so frustrating to watch and I know they talk about these things.
I know what the Eagles had.
The one Jason Smith had to be thinking.
Don't let them get another chance.
But all he can do is play them.
We got a quarter to go.
Up top.
Johnson.
They've taken her out of the game.
Bobby made a great point.
Every time she's touching down low.
They're double teaming her not giving her any room to work.
She's trying to post again.
Has it?
There's the double team.
She fights through it.
Draws the foul so that time goes to work and she'll have two free throws coming.
It's been an adventure there for her today.
These shots critical down the stretch.
As good as Burnside has been.
She's going to have to get a little help.
And whether it comes from Johnson or somebody else on this green county roster, they're going to have to find a way to make a run here in the fourth.
If they want to crawl back into it, seven point game.
Just a couple possessions here and they're going to get defensive stop there right back in it.
Johnson has made three free throws.
Make it four.
She has missed five.
So that was big.
And she's got her team back with the two possessions 35 points.
Now they're down by 630.
Excuse me 65% shooter on the season.
So a little below the season average today.
They need her to rise to the occasion here in the fourth quarter.
Second one.
Perfect trip for Johnson.
Teague free throws.
Back within five 711 to go.
And we've seen Green County Tech get multiple stops in a row.
Can they do it again.
It's a heck of a basketball team.
This is a heck of a basketball game.
We knew Farmington was almost otherworldly, but Green County tech up to the task through a little over three quarters.
McCullough.
Big three.
No.
What a rebound inside.
Ripping it away.
Butler in traffic with two Cardinals in the vicinity.
We've had six really good games all weekend.
Spinning in the lane into traffic.
That could have been a jump ball.
And it will be good call by the officials there.
And Burnside just never saw the second defender coming along.
The baseline spun right into her.
And a good tie up there by Farmington.
So it will be Green County Tech ball with 21 on the shot clock here.
Three pointer open right wing too strong for J.C Edrington.
It's a looking one if you're Green County Tech.
The shot just didn't go.
Crossover McCullough.
Gonzalez still chasing around.
Double dribble for McCollum.
So they're going to turn it over.
Green County Tech again down five.
Big possession here.
Still 623 to go.
We got a long way to the end.
But that the 13th turnover by the Cardinals.
They've got two more that Green County tech.
Marian Adams slipping their defending gets back up in the basket.
The worse way.
Kick to the corner.
Butler no threat there.
Hands it off to Edgerton.
Johnson setting the screen and rolling.
Has it on the wing.
She'll going to work into the paint.
Floater up off the glass is good.
Nice bucket there by Amarion Johnson.
Like what they did there on the screen.
And Johnson pins the defender gets the matchup that she wants gets the bucket.
But a foul on the other end as McCullough gets to the rack.
Yeah again a bail out.
You swing from behind.
You're going to get it every time.
As opposed to let her try to hit a floater along the line there I mean that's a tough angle.
Tough shot.
And you're getting the tendencies just to be aggressive and swing at her.
But they gotta let her have it 87%.
Almost half the job a foregone conclusion with McCullough at the line.
That's the other piece of the puzzle at 17 points.
Now for the freshman.
It's a great substitution.
Morgan, you were in Farmington and Brooklyn.
Bauder back in the senior.
Headed to lumberjack country for volleyball next year.
Free throws are good.
4338, 545 to go.
Very competitive game.
I think a lot of people thought Farmington might come in and run roughshod over these Eagles.
Has not been the case.
I've been really impressed with Greene County Tech.
They have had an answer for every Farmington run.
Let's see if they've got another one.
Burnside.
Good pass, extra pass, three pointer on the way.
Right wing.
No.
And a rebound.
Nice job by McCumber.
A couple of really good looks here in the last couple of minutes for Henderson.
Just cannot get them to go down.
And sometimes these games it's all it comes down to.
Do you make shots or not.
Greene County tech the whole middle section on their feet.
And we've got a illegal screen.
We're going the other way.
That's a second foul on Farmington.
And that is for now.
On McCumber out.
Excuse me.
Fourth now on Mike Burnett five minutes to play.
Now they're going to leave her out there.
Coach Brad Johnson has got faith in his roster.
Yeah that wasn't even a really reasonable attempt to.
The screen just went over for him.
She can't do that.
Butler can pull for a jumper.
Can't get it to go rebound inside.
How about that A little role reversal.
Rebound by Edrington off of the post player's jump shot.
Want to see him work it to Burnside here and get her an opportunity.
She's going to work along the baseline.
And ball poked away by Farmington.
Still 22 on the shot clock for 35 to play.
Greene County Tech's done a great job attacking the offensive glass so far ten offensive rebounds.
Johnson's had a handful though.
She's been really quiet the second half.
They've done a good job of taking her out of the game.
She was living at the line earlier, didn't make a couple of free throws a bit ago.
She's got the inbound there.
Pull up jumper.
Got it right on cue.
Is out of the game.
Exactly I was going to say though you've got those ten offensive rebounds only six points off of those offensive rebounds.
So the second chances haven't been there.
But what a great play on the inbounds.
These loose track and Johnson and she knocks down the midrange.
And again we've got a one possession game.
How about that.
Every answer by Greene County Tech.
So impressive for them to hang in.
There is a really really good team.
And I mean they've got some really good pieces that they're playing so well and cohesively here.
And again, you think about what could have been so many good looks that they didn't knock down here.
I go back to the Audi Ryan three.
That was huge.
She's just come in.
Pulled off the bench rolled the three I mean they've hit some big buckets, but you get some really good looks for your senior shooter in Burnside and just missing those.
But right there for the taking.
I mean look a three point game with 431 to go.
We already had a shocker earlier with Pulaski Academy is undefeated girls going down Farmington again I think in a lot of people's mind a foregone conclusion just a matter by how much Greene County did get the memo.
You know, a lot of this damage here in the fourth quarter.
It's been with Zoe Breashears on the bench.
You got to remember, she's got four fouls, six foot three in the lane.
Makes things a lot tougher on Johnson and company to get things done.
But with her on the bench and she's not coming in, that's this dead ball.
We'll see how long Brad Johnson wants to keep one of his senior leaders on the sideline with those four fouls, especially if Greene County Tech continues to take advantage of it inside.
Yeah you're Adams McCollum.
Mike Burnett and McCumber.
Got some Irish influence over on the Cardinals too.
So maybe they do have a little luck on their side.
Big possession here for Greene County defense.
Still 4.5 minutes left McCullough in the paint stops kicks Heuer gives it up.
Back to McCullough, surveying gets it to you or hit a three earlier.
But it didn't count because she traveled with it first.
Now Adams down hill shot off the glass.
No ball batted out.
And Greene County Tech basketball.
They've done a great job of one and done.
We showed the offensive rebound difference earlier.
It's not only the fact that admittedly they have to take it really great advantage of it, but they've done a good job attacking the glass.
But they've also done a good job of keeping Farmington away from second chances.
Johnson streaking down the middle, lost the handle down to the floor.
She goes, we're going to jump ball and it will go back to Farmington.
So again trying to do a little too much Johnson getting a little excited.
They're trying to beat everybody back.
And I thought Farmington retreated pretty nicely defensively anyway.
Not a lot there but trying to force the issue.
I can't fault her at this point.
She's also done a good job of getting the free throw line.
So the 12th turnover the game now for Greene County Tech.
What are those points off turnovers 16 to 4 advantage for the Lady Eagles.
McCullough behind the back dribble into the paint.
Good defense.
Kick Adams three dagger right there from the corner.
Well that one is huge.
What a great job by McCullough to recognize the defense.
Converge.
Skip it to the corner.
And Adams just buries it.
There's a pretty significant presence sitting at the scorers table Bobby Brashear is about to come back in two.
So things are not going to get easier for Greene County tech Johnson tough shot up off the glass through the contact.
They said that block was clean by MC Burnett but she works through it.
That just shows the strength of Amaria Johnson to get her team back within four.
Double double for Johnson McCullough three pointer from the left wing.
Back to back threes for Farmington.
The lead is now eight.
I mentioned how big it was going to be.
Now for Greene County Tech to have the answer.
It's been Farmington in this fourth quarter who continues to have an answer.
Makes a big play on one in Farmington.
Back to back triples on the other.
254 to go.
And we've got our final media timeout of this outstanding five girls title game and a big possession coming up for Greene County Tech.
254 remaining.
No go anywhere.
Look at that shot by Johnson through the contact.

No doubt about that.
But great relationship.
4942 254 to go Greene County tech needs buckets and they need them fast and they need stops on top of it.
Johnson on the right wing to Butler.
Gets it back.
Gets the screen downhill into contact.
Shot up and down Johnson Johnson needed it.
Showing up when they needed most 15 points 12 rebounds.
She is carrying the Eagles right now.
The double double.
We talked about her being kind of quiet in the second half and then she's gone off center.
Good cut.
Good bucket and a block.
Devastating.
Edrington is going to get the foul.
McCullough took the harm and she'll head to the free throw line.
And she's getting up a little bit gingerly there just too far underneath the basket.
Didn't get the feet set in time.
McCullough.
No place to land.
That's an easy call.
And the freshman has a chance to convert to three point play, as she's already got 23 in this one.
That stat line four boards, three assists, two blocks and a steal.
Not too shabby for a freshman.
Not too shabby for a senior.
She missed a free throw.
Stop the presses and we have a loose ball McCullough.
Oh, shoot it fired up.
That three right there might have lost my mind.
5144.
Eight points.
The Farmington lead.
They got a chance here now to run some clock.
And there's a coach who's been through the battles Brad Johnson hands up saying stop run it.
Shorten this game up.
Let's get out of here.
Trying to complete a three peat is Farmington.
Here's a drive.
Nobody stopped Adams.
You've got to stop the ball.
That's bucket.
Cardinals lead is nine.
151 remaining ball batted back.
Pull up jumper very flat.
No good.
And the rebound for the writing's on the wall now 142 Green County.
Tech battled and battled but Farmington in command now feel like the championship experience is starting to catch up to Farmington making the big plays late.
And how about Farmington just making plays after play and Adams as you just mentioned, Justin, it's really easy if nobody stops the basketball all the way to the ten and the finish.
There and Adams again get a full shot clock.
Might as well run it.
See Burnside fouls again.
You can't just let him sit out there and play pitch catch.
I think they're going to try to pick their poison on who to foul right now.
Clearly they don't want to send Adams to the line.
Do not want to send McCullough either.
And there goes Adams inside.
And the ball knocked away.
And it's going the other way.
So that's exactly what Greene County tech neat.
It looks like Adams might have just lost the handle on that one.
So a big turnover.
Good chance to get back into it.
Trailing by nine.
Greene County needs baskets.
They need it quickly inside Johnson Johnson up off the glass.
No tipped out and they're going to give it back to Farmington.
Boy that's a tough call.
That's a tough call there.
Yeah it looks like Michigan kind of swatted that out trying to tip that one out.
And maybe the Lady Eagles got a hand on it.
Farmington is going to take a timeout 105 away from the final here.
We're going to keep it here.
But Greene County tech in big trouble after a valiant effort today against the Farmington team that has been running roughshod over just about everybody, their loan loss came to a team from Knoxville in a tournament over Greenville, Tennessee.
Webb High School got it by four.
I don't know how good Webb High School is.
Gets really, really good.
Farmington has just had an answer.
They've won 19 straight looking for their third consecutive state championship.
The last two came in class for their first year in five.
They haven't slowed down a bit, go undefeated in conference play.
They've just got playmakers at so many positions and they're 20 points below their season average today.
Greene County Tech has done a great job defensively of really limiting the damage, but any time they got close, it felt like anytime they got between 2 or 3 points, they never got the ball back.
With a chance to take the lead as Farmington always found an answer.
Well, nobody wants any moral victories, but the Golden Eagles have a lot to be proud of.
They this Farmington team, in for a championship last year beat Morrilton 5831, a much more competitive five day championship this year.
Adams in and out and kill some clock.
And I think again everybody on both sides sees the writing on the wall here.
And there's the foul given you got a foul you got to do it earlier.
Yeah 19 seconds now just extending the game is all you really doing at this point anyway.
But they've got a couple fouls to give.
That's the fourth by the way on Burnside I don't mind giving up the foul, especially considering they're not even in the bonus yet.
But if you're do it, do it immediately.
Gonzales was out Bowdler and make him come in.
Just a game and a foul here.
We'll see.
Yeah, because it's not like it is in college where the shot clock would reset to 20.
Here goes all the way back to 35.
And now Farmington can sit there and bleed a little more clock unless you give up the foul immediately.
But either way it could there could have been a minute on the clock instead of just 46 and some change Johnson taken out here too.
And they may not.
They're going to foul or not.
They're going to let him dribble it out.
It looks like just play defense I mean it's a nine point game.
There's really no way back here with 37 seconds left.
Certainly if they're not going to foul now can forget it.
And again like you said with the shot clock reset there's McCullough getting run over by Butler.
That'll be the fifth foul on Greene County.
So they're going to let McCullough go to the line and shoot a couple more free throws.
Quietly.
The freshman has ended up with 23.
Yeah I mean she makes it look so easy.
It's so unspectacular in most cases.
And she's just piling up the points making great decisions.
Phenomenal night for her.
And she's got more ahead of her.
But look who's coming back with her next year.
Let's see Josie Dillard who really didn't get in this one.
Thornton Sadie Morris.
And I'm looking at just the roster.
I mean really everybody she played with tonight seniors.
So it's going to be a rebuild job.
But you got a pretty good cornerstone to build around, I'd say.
There's no doubt about that.
Farmington one of the best programs in the state Brad Johnson obviously won a handful of titles there in Northwest Arkansas.
They're benefiting from the boom like everybody else is north of the tunnel.
Hadley Fagan just entered the game first time five five seniors.
She'll bring the ball up the floor.
We're going to get her a little championship taste here in a losing effort.
Unfortunately.
And there's a steal by McCullough.
That's not even nice.
Senior comes in the game turns it right over.
And we're going to get a maybe a substitution timeout.
Yeah.
Get to let them all come in.
They know it's over now.
But the seed didn't stop the clock though.
They need to stop the clock and reset it back to about 12 seconds.
Yeah this senior class going out with not one but two but three consecutive state championships.
Pretty impressive run that Farmington is on six consecutive championships for appearances.
Of course the first one came back in 2020.
Didn't get the opportunity to play that game because of Covid.
But three straight titles Farmington best program in the state Lizzie Mayberry getting in Sidney Self and they're going to dribble it out here also Josie Diller there she is back.
And that's going to do it Farmington new classification.
Same old result.
Championship for the Cardinals 5444.

With Easton McCullough just being a freshman and she's been named the MVP.
We'll visit with her in a moment.
And an impressive performance by the Cardinals.
Let's take a look at the numbers as the Cardinals take home another championship, their first at five a 50% from the floor, 47% from three.
For sheer got it started and McCullough finished it off.
Not too bad for Greene County either.
It's almost 36% in Greene County.
Tech wins the rebound.
Battle 2823.
Really did a good job attacking the offensive glass.
Forced more turnovers and the points off 16 to 7 advantage for the runner up.
Golden Eagles for Greene County Tech.
Really well-played.
Game on both sides.
Very entertaining.
And now they're celebrating with their fans.
We're going to get our head coach Brad Johnson over here momentarily.
But they're still celebrating.
We'll take a look at the highlights first though.
And what a performance.
And I thought Farmington really it like we mentioned earlier, probably doesn't get enough credit for their defense.
Amaya Johnson doing all she could to keep her team in it.
There she is late doing what she can to get buckets for her team.
And then that big three from the corner from, Greene County Tech that was Addy Ryan, but just too much Farmington down the stretch and too much.
And number four, our MVP, the freshman Moorhead head coach joining us now Brad Johnson as we continue through these highlights.
And that was a great finish there by Easton as she took the contact escorted Marian Adams rolling down Main Street.
But coach congratulations I know it's kind of old hat for you guys now.
But to do it at five eight now impressive.
You guys had a spectacular running.
You cap it off here with a win.
But I can't tell you how proud I am of these kids.
You know.
First of all, hats off, green kites to Jason Smith's.
One of the best to do it at any level in the history of Arkansas high school girls basketball.
His team was a reflection of that.
I just I love her kids.
I love her, their toughness.
I love their togetherness.
You know, we had to weather some storms tonight.
We had to answer a lot of things that Greene County tech threw at us.
And, I thought our kids showed a tremendous amount of toughness.
We made plays when we had to, Easton hit some big shots to play well beyond her years.
But, you know, the moxie of these seniors that have been here for so many years and on this stage, I thought you could really see that experience show up as a game.
One piece of the game for Greene County Tech early was to answer the runs for you.
Tonight.
It was you answering their run every time they cut it to one possession.
It seemed like you came up with a play.
Yeah.
And we felt like going in.
It was actually a pregame thing that we talked about is, you know, they're too good of a basketball team.
We've seen them too many times.
We lost a lot of film on them.
You know they're capable of runs to.
And so we knew the runs were going to happen.
It was we're going to have to try to get them stopped as quickly as we could.
And then we had to answer them with one of our own, you know, and again, I just thought our kids just kept answering the bell.
You know, just get a stop, move on, you know, get your own run going.
And just a lot of toughness, a lot of guts.
Tonight I want to ask you about, I mean, hoops is hoops, but blending that great group of seniors who've done it all over before in with a superstar freshman, that had to be an interesting challenge early on.
You know, it really wasn't.
And it's a lot of it has to do with the type of person that she is.
She's an unbelievable teammate, you know, and obviously she's an elite level scorer.
But she's a great passer too.
And hey, the thing about our kids on this basketball team is they want to win.
They they don't they don't care how we do it.
And I say this all the time about them like they you know, not only do they want to go out and win, but they celebrate the success of each other and so they don't care how we do it.
But they loved on her.
She makes it easy to love on her.
And, you know, it was a pretty easy transition.
Coach congratulations.
Great win.
Appreciate you guys.
All right.
That is our championship coach Brad Johnson.
And we will get our MVP over here.
Teams on the court now for our final game of the night.
Looking forward to that one as well.
The five a boys state championship.
And we lost our MVP.
Now we're going to get her up here in a second.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
Coming in.
And Easton McCullough obviously puts on a show here in Hot Springs a third consecutive state championship for Easton McCullough.
We're waiting to get her going as she's posing with pictures.
And here's the highlights of Easton McCullough.
Really impressive performance from her.
And we finally got her little feedback going on.
But Easton McCullough joins us now.
And it's your first year playing varsity high school basketball in your state champion.
How's it feel?
Yes.
It feels amazing to do it in front for this community and these players I asked the coach about, he said the blend of you with all the seniors is not a big deal.
How about for you?
I mean, you want to be confident, but again, maybe a little deferential to the seniors.
How how do you work that?
You know, her relationship coming in for me and really well.
And they made the transition super easy and they made the year so much fun for me.
What was it like working with your mom all season?
Oh, it was fun.
It's a lot of basketball talk at home, but it's fun.
Is she harder on you than she is on the other ones or not?
Yes.
Yes.
Yeah.
You guys faced a little adversity in the semifinals.
Down at halftime to Bologna.
Obviously a tough test tonight kind of what you find out about yourself in the last two games of the season.
We talked about all year like teams are going to go on runs as long as we keep walking forward.
And I think that's what we did.
Well listen, go enjoy it with your teammates.
Maybe the first of many we'll see kind of a rebuild.
But you're going to be the cornerstone next year.
You're looking forward to an opportunity to be more of the I mean not that you weren't the focal point now, but I mean, it's a different challenge.
Next year may be more of a leadership role.
Yes, yes, for sure.
But we got a couple of juniors that will play good minutes.
So I think we'll be good next year.
Well congratulations.
It's always a look towards next year.
Thank you.
All right congratulations.
That's our MVP Easton McCullough.
Phenomenal performance.
And the MVP.
If you want to celebrate with the farm and the Cardinals you can do it.

All right.
Let's take a look at our next game.
And it's going to be a good one.
It is the five AA boys final Maumelle Benton going at it here at Benkovic Arena.
Our final game of the night.
Looking forward to it.
And that is going to do it for our broadcast now.
We'll be back with that one in just a bit.
