Learn Moreabout PBS online sponsorship(upbeat music) - Good morning, Arkansas students and families.
It's Meghan Ables here and we're excited today.
We're going to be learning about some holidays.
But it doesn't have to be an exact holiday, but every month there is someone or something to celebrate and learn more about.
And today's actually a holiday.
Did y'all know?
Today is a National Book Lovers Day.
And I bet my friend, Ms. Tia Brickey, who's our school librarian is celebrating by reading a book.
And next week on August 12, it's Wiggle Your Toes Day.
Who doesn't love to - (dog howling) (startled screaming) Frisbee, you scared me.
- Oh, I'm sorry Ms. Meghan.
- We were just talking about Wiggle Our Toes Day.
- Oh, I love that day.
- You love that day?
You wiggle your toes?
- No, I don't have any toes to wiggle, but I do love wiggling my tail.
- I bet you do love wiggling your tail.
You're a tail wiggler.
You dance too, don't ya?
- Oh I dance real good.
(laughs) Snoopy ain't got nothing on me.
- Snoopy?
(laughs) You gonna make Snoopy look bad.
- Oh.
- And then October, we have a holiday.
Is there a holiday you like to celebrate in October?
- I love Halloween.
- I love Halloween too, but I sometimes eat too much candy.
- Oh I can't eat candy cause I'm a dog.
- Oh, you collect bones on Halloween?
- No.
- Oh.
So you wait at the door when people knock and bark?
- Oh, I love doing that.
- Oh, okay.
Awesome.
- That's my favorite part.
- Yes, I can see that.
And guess what else is on Halloween?
- I don't know.
What?
- National Knock-Knock Joke Day.
- Oh that's great.
I've got one for you.
Ready?
- Okay, okay.
Hold on, hold on.
Let's take a breath.
Let's get ready.
Okay Frisbee, go.
- Knock-knock.
- Who's there?
- Interrupting dog.
- Interrupting dog - (Frisbee howls) (screams) Frisbee.
You are too much.
I'm going to get you back after this.
- What's next?
- What's next, okay.
What's next, February.
Let's go to February.
Think about what holidays are in February.
- Hmm.
Ah, Valentine's Day.
- Valentine's Day, yes.
And I bet you get lots of love on Valentine's Day.
But guess what else?
It's also Random Acts of Kindness Day in February.
- I love that day.
You should do more random acts of kindness.
- I do plenty.
I let people pet me all the time.
- Okay.
Well that works.
Can I pet you later?
- Maybe.
- Okay.
And then it's also, we get to celebrate the whole month, it's Black History Month.
What a wonderful thing to celebrate.
- That's a great month.
- That's right.
And then guess what's in April.
- Oh, um.
I don't know.
What is it?
- Well, Frisbee, this is going to be tough on you because in April on the 18th, it's National High-Five Day.
But, can you give high-fives?
- I don't have hands.
- Or can you do a nose bump?
- Oh I can do nose bump.
- Nose bump, all right.
Awesome.
And then in May we get to celebrate our teachers and our nurses.
We love Teacher Appreciation Week.
Hello, I'm a teacher.
- I love it too.
What's next?
- What's next.
Okay, June.
Are you ready?
June the new, drum roll, national holiday Juneteenth.
Did you know?
- I didn't know that.
That's great.
- It just got approved.
And it is such a special day for our black families and friends.
And Frisbee, guess what?
We're running out of time.
(gasps) - Oh no.
- But I know what you're going to want to do next.
- Celebrate National Frisbee Day.
- Yes we are.
And guess how we're going to do that?
- I don't know, how?
- We're going to go.
Ready, set, go!
(excited gasps) (thuds) Thanks for joining us.
